Removals
There are many
different types of removals services available;
Discount Backloading
Removals;
Generally for smaller loads where there is a bit of
space left on the truck which can be filled along
the way. This is generally only done on long
distance or interstate moves. Most
moving companies and
removalists have a minimum charge which can vary
between $300 - $500 depending on the company and the
route.
Interstate Furniture
Removals;
Can either be done using interstate furniture
removals trucks which vary in size from 40-60 cubic
meters in volume right up to semi trailer rigs which
can hold up to 100-120 cubic meters - Or they can be
done in shipping containers and transported via rail
to the destination city and then delivered via a
container truck. Both methods have their pro's and
cons. Interstate trucks are generally quicker with
regards to delivery but containers are better over
longer distances, especially when storage may be
required if you are still looking for your new home.
Moving Boxes;
Most removalists and moving companies sell moving
boxes, additionally you can also visit your local
storage facility for moving boxes and packing
materials as well.
Pre-Paking;
The vast majority of removalists provide a
pre-packing service - which is where they will pack
all your belongings into boxes for you. For a
standard 3 bedroom home this can
cost around $300-$500 on
top of your furniture removals price. There are also
companies who specialise specifically in packing and
unpacking and they can clean and set up your whole
house for you.
Storage Facilities;
The moving and storage industries work closely
together and whilst some removals companies may have
storage facilities, there is a vast number of
storage facilities available in every city and town
throughout Australia.
